Hollywood bit players on baseball cards: Part 18

Bit player would be an understatement for this actor, who had a starring role on TV's Mr. Belvedere from 1985-1990. He has several other acting credits too, but all of those are either as himself or as a ballplayer/broadcaster (so basically, himself). You may have seen him playing himself, by his or another name, in the Major League movies, Fatal Instinct or Who's the Boss, and perhaps even voicing himself as a character on Futurama, Puppy Dog Pals, The Simpsons or Teen Titans Go!

Of course you recognized the guy Johnny Carson jokingly called, "Mr. Baseball", Bob Uecker! No doubt the most famous player to hit .200 in less than 300 MLB games.

I have Uecker's last two Topps cards, from 1966 and 1967 Topps.

  1. He was great in Major League. Reminds me that I need to upgrade his Braves card.

  2. Depending on one's age, there's a good chance that Mr. Belvedere was your first introduction to Bob; it certainly was mine.
