Looks like he is at a clothing store, but beyond that there is not much to go on. It actually looks like the area he is standing in is roped off from the merchandise, and there are loose stacks of paper (maybe tissue paper?) next to him.
Shortstop Tommy LeVasseur played five years in the Padres organization, from 1986 to 1990, reaching as high as AAA. He then played three seasons in Italy and returned to the US in 1994 for one more season at AAA Calgary (Mariners organization). In 512 minor league games he hit .277 with 9 HR, 215 RBI and 93 SB. After his career he worked for a time as a scout and a minor league manager. He is now a construction specialist and youth baseball coach in California. A fuller account of his career can be found at the baseball card blog The Greatest 21 Days.
Tommy LeVasseur could easily be the name of a clothing designer.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the store manager thought that he'd be showing up in a dirty uniform. Hence him being so far away from the wares.
