Wallet Card at some Bell Telephone remnants

I love finding old Bell "Public Telephone" signs that are still up after 60 or 70 years. This one is outside a bar in the East Village. It's double-sided, but at the time I was over there, a bunch of people started coming out to hang around outside and I wasn't going to have room for the other side. Maybe another time.

When the Bells were broken up in 1984, New York began getting service from Bell Atlantic. Bell Atlantic lasted until 2000, when it merged with GTE to form Verizon. This banner sign for "Bell Atlantic Mobile" in Chinatown must date from the late 1990s.
Another little Bell Atlantic remnant I found; this was in a phone booth at the LIRR Station in Rockville Centre, NY.

  3. You have to have some trained eyes to find that remnant in the phone booth. Nice job.
