1981 Topps Jim Morrison

The front: You can clearly read "E-4" written on the bottom of the bill of Morrison's cap. I guess it was for motivation. Morrison led the AL with 29 errors at second base in 1980, and from 1981 on played more third than second.

The back: Morrison led Georgia Southern to their first ever College World Series appearance after transferring as a junior in 1973.

The player: Morrison was a solid, if unspectacular, infielder for mostly bad teams over a 12 year major league career. His best season was 1986, when he hit .274 with 23 HR and 88 RBI for the lowly Pirates. Overall, in 1,089 games for five teams, he hit .260 with 112 HR and 435 RBI.

The man: Morrison has had a long career as a minor league manager, entering his 17th season in the Rays organization in 2023.

My collection: I have 34 of his cards, from 1979 to 1989. I would be interested in trading for 1987 Stuart Bakery Super Stars #10.
