I've shown a few existing signs for defunct stores on my blog, and will be showing more. However, while most are pretty subtle, this huge sign dominates the intersection of 51st Street and Ninth Avenue. Network was a small theater that only existed for a couple of years in the early 1980s. And yet their enormous sign has stood for over 35 years.
You might notice the letter G sticking out on the bottom right of the sign. Before it was Network, the space was Grossman's Furniture from the 1950s to the 1970s.
