In his profile on TCDB, bobberkill mentioned that he had low grade vintage in poor shape that wasn't even included in his tradelists. I told him I was interested in those kinds of cards and we worked out a nice trade.
These cards only look vintage, but hit a few modern needs. The Ray Kroc card is weird, Topps took a black-and-white photo and just colorized his head and hand.
Now for the good old stuff. Nine terrific 1956 cards. What a beautiful set. Looks like a couple of Roy Campanella cameos in there.
Five 55s. "Jake" is in quotes while the others are not, even though they are all nicknames. I guess that's because he's not Jacob Thies but Vernon Arthur Thies.
Four from '54. I like the baby-blue backgrounds on the Chicago teams.
Finally, six from 1953. Bob Hofman's Giants hat is colored lightly enough to look more like a very early Mets hat. Karl Drews's grandson was a 1st-round draft bust for the Yankees in the 1990s.
Those cards don't look like they're too poor to list on his trade bait.
