Willie McCovey

I won some very nice cards in a recent contest by Gavin of Baseball Card Breakdown. This was an assortment of Willie McCovey cards. McCovey was of course a Hall-of-Famer on the field, but it wasn't until his recent death that I learned just how well-liked and respected he was off the field, by all accounts a great person off the field as well.

This card was the reason I picked the McCovey lot. Very nice addition to my '73 set. Not very often you get to see one hall-of-famer cameoing on another's card.

 There were also several modern McCoveys. I had most of them already so if you are interested in a trade let me know. I know it looks like a '67 and a '74 in there, but the Topps logo is a giveaway that they are reprints.

Finally, Gavin threw in a really nice surprise, a pinstriped relic of one of my all-time favorite Yankees.
