Modern baseball and vintage football

I got some fun cards in a trade with reader Brett Allen. He sent me three cards needed for my 2021 Topps set.

Two big stars, plus D'Arnaud always killed the Yankees when he was with Tampa Bay. The cardboard cutout fan on Freddie Freeman's card looks distorted from the angle of the photo.

The rest of the package was from my football wantlist. While I'm not seriously collecting Topps football sets, I like to pick up the cards occasionally. What I did do a while back was go through all the 1970s sets on TCDB and pick out the photos I liked the best, so each of these cards I really enjoy.

Many of these are action cards. I also put on any Jets photo at my alma mater Hofstra University, where the buildings or parking lots are visible.

Here's 1976 and 1977. Sleeping Jack Tatum is awesome, but my favorite is the Lou Piccone card with a lot I probably parked in many times.

Some fun ones from '78 and '79.

The best ones, not surprisingly are from the fantastic '74 set. The Bob Windsor is my favorite of this package. How awesome is it that they got a fan sign for Bob Windsor in the background of his card? And how often does a card of a tight end show the TE making a fumble-causing tackle?
