Time traveling football stars

In my latest Diamond Jesters Time Travel Trade, I only took one baseball card, but a bunch of football cards.

The one baseball card featured Ramon Martinez back when he was the most notable pitcher in the family. Also here are a Bears card with Walter Payton and a Jim Kelly Collect-A-Book.

A dozen '73s. When Topps was able to get away from headshots they got some great photos for the set. It's hard to tell with the lack of logos but the QB getting sacked by Claude Humphrey (who passed away last month) is none other than Roger Staubach.

This was the best card in the trade for me. A Jerrel Jernigan card that has an auto, a uniform swatch, and best of all is very very shiny. Jernigan was a rookie on the Giants' Super Bowl XLVI winning team, returning three kicks in the Super Bowl for 71 yards.

    That's a good trio of players with Humphrey, Hanburger, and Little.

    If they had done more action shots, I think that the '73 set would've been much more highly regarded today than it is.
