The front: Two similar headshots, tightly cropped. There is
little room for anything but their faces here. Too bad Topps couldn’t get a
photo of the two of them together, that would have worked much better.
The back: This record was broken in 1985, when Vince Coleman
stole 110 bases and his Cardinals teammate Willie McGee stole 56, for a total
of 166. No team has come close since, nor is one likely to in the near future.
Nice job by Topps to recognize a record like this. I wouldn't have enjoyed being on the mound when LeFlore & Scott (or Coleman & McGee!) were on the base paths.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame that LeFlore left the following season. Can you imagine the terror he would have caused on the base paths with Scott and Tim Raines?
