Player Profile: Andy Brown

I have five cards of Andy Brown. This one is from 1999 Bowman.

Playing career: Outfielder Andy Brown was the Yankees’ first-round draft pick in 2008, and was a major disappointment. In eight minor league seasons he played in 605 games, but just 19 above A-ball. Overall he hit .219 with 70 HR and 279 RBI. Contact was his big problem – he struck out in over 37% of his at-bats.

My memories: Only know him from his card.

Where he is now: Anyone know where Andy Brown is now?

Google Autocomplete results: He is fourth when you type Andy Br, between Andy Bravo, referring to a TV host on the Bravo channel, and Andy Brod, an investment manager going through a high-profile divorce. There are no references to the ballplayer on the first page of Google results; the first entry is for a jazz guitarist.

Coming up next: The next profile will be Anthony Brown.
