I have three cards of Bud Anderson. This one is from 1984 Topps.
Playing career: Bud Anderson pitched for the Cleveland Indians in 1982 and 1983. In 64 games he won four games, had seven saves and a 3.68 ERA.
Where he is now: Volunteer Assistant Coach at his alma mater, Clarke High School in Westbury, NY.
My memories: His playing cool is before my time. It’s cool to see someone from Long Island that pitched in the major leagues.
Google Autocomplete results: He is fourth when you type Bud A, between Bud Adams, owner of the Tennessee Titans, and Bud and Mary’s, a fishing marina in Florida. The ballplayer is actually ninth when you Google Bud Anderson; most of the top results refer to a US Air Force hero from World War Two. Also preceding the ballplayer are an HVAC company in Arkansas and the son on Father Knows Best.
Coming up next: The next profile will be Dave Anderson.
