Expanded baseball cards XII

Thanks everyone for your helpful comments yesterday. It seems that I was the last person left mailing baseball cards in the blue sidewalk mailboxes. We do have the new-style, "tamper proof" mailboxes, and I mailed hundreds of PWEs with zero problems, until, literally overnight, they stopped going through. One last question - those of you who mail PWEs from the post office: do you put them in the blue mailboxes at the post office, or do you actually have to go when the P.O. is open and wait on line to hand them to a clerk?

On to the latest expanded baseball cards! I started this off as a random one-off with something I would occasionally do while sorting lots of duplicates, and it has turned into my most popular series of posts based on views.

  1. Jack Clark's endless arm is pretty great.

  2. Greg Matthews is a little creepy in a "human centipede" sort of way. I usually mail my PWE with non-machinable postage, so I'll go wait in line and hand the envelopes to the clerk. That way I know they'll get put in the correct bin. (Lines are never too bad at the one near work, so I don't mind taking 5 minutes on my lunch break).

  3. Always love these. If you had twice as many of that Mike Heath it could complete a circle.

Happy to say I haven't stood in line at the post office in years (other than for the self-service kiosk to buy stamps). During the mask-up covid days, I'd drop mail in the blue mailboxes just outside the post office. These days I go into the lobby where there's a slot for letters next to a receptacle for dropping off packages. Post offices vary, but I think there's usually a spot like that inside for dropping off stuff without standing in line.

  6. If I'm going to ship other items at the post office, I'll just hand them to the clerk. If I'm not shipping other items, I just go to the local Postal Annex and drop it off in their mailbox which is indoors and at the front where there's a clerk.

  7. I never use outside boxes, if only because various weather condition may adversely affect whatever it is that I'm mailing. I always use the indoor drop boxes at the PO, as it doesn't need to be open to access those.
