A patriotic, but not July 4th, card

Watching the Yankees play with red hats over the weekend was a weird way to recognize Independence Day. In previous years, baseball was more subtle with its patriotic gestures.

I originally thought this card (Omar Vizquel 2003 Stadium Club) with a US flag on 2nd base must have been taken on July 4th, but the Indians did not play the Tigers that day in 2002. However, they did play them on Memorial Day, which must have been when this picture was taken. This play was in the fourth inning, with Vizquel catching Wendell Magee attempting to steal second, thrown out by Indians catcher Eddie Perez. Vizquel went 0-4 in Cleveland's 4-1 loss to Detroit, while Magee was 2-4 with an RBI.
