It's an interesting background behind Clay Kirby. Trees and part of a grandstand, part of a chain link fence. I can't figure out where it is though. The Padres first wore yellow caps in 1971, and only on the road. Kirby pitched in day games in Cincinnati, San Francisco, Atlanta, Pittsburgh and New York, but this doesn't seem to match any of those parks. It doesn't seem to match any Cactus League parks that I can find either. Maybe Palm Springs if those are palm trees, it's hard to tell. Maybe one of you readers knows the answer?

Candlestick Park before it got enclosed maybe?
ReplyDeleteDefinately Candlestick
ReplyDeleteAgree with npb and Wrigley wax. There were evergreens out beyond centerfield in the "open" candlestick configuration.
ReplyDeleteI am very disappointed that none of the above answers were "a zoo exhibit" because that's sure as hell what it's always looked like.
