The front: Simple head shot, though the bat sneaking in the
picture provides some visual interest.
The back: The three doubles came in a game at Rochester.
The player: Sal Butera was a second- or third-string catcher
for five teams over nine seasons. In 359 games, he hit .227 with 8 HR and 76
RBI.
The man: Butera spent many years as a major league coach and
minor league manager. He is now a scout for the Blue Jays.
My collection: I have 15 of his cards, from 1981 to 1990. I
would be interested in trading for 1986 Texas Gold Cincinnati Reds #22.
