This is one of New York's most famous and beloved old signs. Born around 1883, Louis Zuflacht owned an operated this "smart clothing" store from around the 1940s to the 1970s. He passed away in 1986, over 100 years old. This sign was erected in 1942, possibly New York's last neon sign installed before World War II put the neon business on hiatus. Though the building has changed hands numerous times over the decades, this awesome 1940s sign has remained a constant.
