Outfielder Pookie Wilson played in the Marlins organization from 1993 to 1997, stealing 103 bases in 645 games. Now the owner of The Launching Pad baseball instruction facility in Montgomery, AL, he kindly answered my questions about the baseball card where he holds a hot dog with the name "Pookie" written in mustard.
"The card that you are referring to, was the Pookie Dog card, lol. Our team photographer that year, when I at the AA Portland Sea Dogs, wanted to do something cool and he got a hot dog and put Pookie on it and he snapped the picture. The team photographer's name is Stewart Smith. We had a blast."
Thanks!
