Player Profile: J.P. Arencibia

I have one card of J.P. Arencibia, from 2011 Topps.

Playing career: J.P. Arencibia made his major league debut in spectacular fashion in 2010, with four hits and two homers in his first game.

Where he is now: He took over as the Blue Jays starting catcher in 2011, setting a team record for home runs as a catcher (23).

My memories: I remember hearing about his famous debut. He is one of many Blue Jay sluggers that seem to do well against the Yankees.

Google Autocomplete results: He is first when you type J.P. A, before J.P. and Ashley, referring to the couple on the TV show Bachelorette. There do not appear to be any other prominent J.P. Arencibias.

Coming up next: The next profile will be Alberto Arias.
