Last year I went to a game the opening weekend at Yankee Stadium, and saw a Yankee winning streak come to an end when Phil Hughes was belted around by the Tigers. The only Yankee with any kind of decent day (the hitters were all punchless) was rookie David Phelps, who threw 5.1 innings of one-run relief ball. Are we seeing a star in the making? Doubtful, but had to find something to enjoy.
