Randy Keisler on baseball cards

Randy Keisler pitched six seasons in the major leagues for the Yankees, Padres, Reds, A's and Cardinals. In 55 games (20 starts) he went 4-4 with a 6.63 ERA. Now a Real Estate Associate at WinHill Advisors-Kirby in Houston, he kindly answered my questions about baseball cards.

"I remember when I first came up to big leagues with Yankees in 2000. We were playing in Tampa against the Rays, we were coming off the field from BP and a guy with a camera stopped me and asked me if he could take an action shot of me. He said he was from Topps. I was in my tennis shoes and he asked me to go through my delivery so I did it in front of our dugout in tennis shoes. That was one of my first big league cards. It looked stupid, me in my tennis shoes in front of the dugout.

I absolutely have a favorite card. My split card w the "rocket" Roger Clemens. Next generation I believe. He and I on a card together. It is awesome. "

Thanks! It appears the tennis-shoes card was Fleer, not Topps.

  1. How cool would it be to be able to tell your kids that you share a card with one of the best pitchers of that era?

  2. That’s awesome. I remember him. I believe I have a card of him that has a piece of game used hat.
