The front: Classic spring training pose. The big question is
– is there a ball in Farmer’s glove, or just his empty hand?
The back: Farmer’s three seasons with the White Sox were his
only three seasons with double-digit save totals.
The player: A journeyman reliever, Farmer pitched for eight
teams in 11 seasons. In 370 games, mostly in relief, he went 30-43 with 75
saves and a 4.28 ERA.
The man: Farmer, who has been a White Sox announcer for the
last 26 years, has had a lifelong battle with kidney disease, almost dying on multiple occasions.
My collection: I have 14 of his cards, from 1972 to 1983. I
would be interested in trading for 1973 Topps #272.
Those green borders really go nice with your blog's background.
