Cake or gum? 1977 Topps Jerry Royster

Last time was an 11-0 rout for gum. Will this be another contest as lopsided as Blue Jays-Yankees?

Two photos that were taken at the same sitting, though the colors come out differently as the Hostess photos seem to have printed much darker. They have a closeup of Royster at Candlestick, while Topps went with a hitting pose that shows the bicentennial patch on his jacket.

Infielder Jerry Royster played sixteen years in the major leagues, ten of them for the Braves. He was mostly a platoon and backup player. In 1,428 games he hit .249 with 40 HR, 352 RBI and 189 stolen bases. Royster had a long career coaching in the major leagues and had managerial stints with the Brewers and in Korea. Most recently he was head baseball coach at Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, CA, retiring in 2022.
