1955 Golden Stamps New York Giants

Another generous blogger is Jeff of Wax Pack Wonders. As another Yankees postseason ends with a whimper, let's check out the generous random act of kindness Jeff sent.

1955 Golden Stamps are interesting for many reasons. One is that there are regular stamps, and then there are also cutouts from the stamp book that are exactly the size of the stamps, just with the back of the page instead of the blank stamp back. I'm not sure if they're always considered equivalent but they are to me. These are all the cutout versions.

Another reason the Golden Stamps sets are interesting is because the photo selection is a lot more interesting than what Topps and Bowman were putting out for their cards. Some great pitcher shots here, plus a great dugout shot.

Some more great Golden Giants. Hank Thompson waiting by the phone is my favorite of these, but they're all fantastic. Batboy Bobby Weinstein is the only one I had already, so it's available for trade.
Generous Jeff also threw in this 1979 Hostess card. Always nice to finish off with some delicious cake!

  1. Wonder what became of Mr. Weinstein. Tried to find him on Baseball Reference, but nothing popped up.

  3. Nice Hostess! ... I don't think I've ever seen the stamps just as stamps.
