1993 Studio George Brett

Hobbies are golf and fly fishing: Here is an interview Brett did with Golf Magazine.

Favorite sports announcer is Chris Berman: Brett has been a longtime friend of Berman’s. The term “Mendoza Line” reached public notoriety when Brett explained the concept to Berman.

Favorite player as a kid was Carl Yastrzemski: Brett was eight years old when Yaz made his major league debut, and a ten-year major league veteran by the time he retired.

Might have been a construction worker if he hadn’t been an athlete: I’m sure he would have been a fun personality on a work site.

Pet peeve is cigarette smoke: Brett preferred to chew his tobacco – he was a regular Skoal user.

Where he is now: VP of Baseball Operations for the Royals.
