the LA area where he would have been able to hear Scully regularly.
Favorite player as a kid was Ted Simmons: Simmons was one of
baseball’s best catchers when Harper was growing up.
Most prized possession is his Bible: A religious man, Harper
also likes Christian music. His favorite performers are Chris Tomlin and
Hillsong.
Might have been a baseball coach if he hadn’t been an
athlete: After his baseball career Harper coached his son’s team, and is now a
long-time minor league coach.
Pet peeve is smoking: Another non-smoker.
Where he is now: A minor league hitting coach in the Tigers
organization.
