Another trade that originated from Night Owl's One Card Challenge - got a bunch of cards from various sets from Rosenort of Condition Sensitive. I sent him some Rockies and other cards in exchange for the last needed card of one small set and several others that are bringing other sets closer to a finish.
The most interesting to me was this card from 1992 Upper Deck, featuring a Vernon Wells painting of Greg Vaughn, with a scoreboard declaring May 30, 1992 as the "Upper Deck Heroes Game." From what I can figure out online, it appears they gave away cards at the ballpark that day. So how did Vaughn and the Brewers do that day? They lost to the Yankees, 8-1, with Vaughn going 0-4 with three strikeouts. Meanwhile, three Yankees hit home runs off of starter Chris Bosio, including a grand slam by Don Mattingly. Awesome.
