Player Profile: Bob Apodaca

Check out the newest This Week in Baseball Cards over at the Hall of Very Good - little league photos of the stars!

I have three cards of Bob Apodaca. This one is from 1979 Topps.

Playing career: Bob Apodaca overcome an infinity ERA in his first season, 1973, to eventually post a career 2.86 mark for the Mets before his career ended due to injury in 1977.

My memories: Before my time.

Where he is now: Pitching coach for the Rockies since 2003.

Google Autocomplete results: He is first when you type Bob Ap, before Bob Apfel, a Yale engineering professor who died in 2002. There do not appear to be any other prominent Bob Apodacas.

Coming up next: The next profile will be Luis Aponte.
