The front: Cox warming up at Tiger Stadium.
The back: He attended Ottawa-Glandorf High School in Ottawa,
OH.
The player: Larry Cox was a second- or third-string catcher
for the Phillies, Mariners, Cubs and Rangers from 1973 to 1982. In 348 games he
hit .221 with 12 HR and 85 RBI.
The man: Cox was the bullpen coach for the Chicago Cubs when
he died of a heart attack at the age of 42 in February, 1990.
My collection: I have nine of his cards, from 1976 to 1981.
I would be interested in trading for 1980 O-Pee-Chee #63.
I'm always amazed with your ability to recognize a stadium by the dirt, wall, rail and blue seats.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great card, one I've seen 400 times, and never realized its greatness.
