Wallet Card with a mysterious ghost sign

This huge painted sign on 112 Reade Street is one of New York's most famous "ghost signs". It says "Brush Up Business with Paste, Paper and Push." Some sources put it as an early 20th-century sign, while others say it was a movie set decoration from the 1970s. I think it's a set decoration as there is no indication of what company is being advertised. Still a great sign though, and even if it's from a movie, it is 40+ years out of date.

  1. I was curious about that sign myself. Guess it was an old timey way of saying "your ad here"

  2. Very interesting mystery. Never would have thought a movie set decoration would survive out in a real city for so long.

  3. It does look like more of a modern version of a vintage ad, doesn't it? Is that a big paint brush on the wall space to the right?
