Mike Ekstrom on baseball cards

[For those of you who enjoy baseball card interviews, you should check out The Greatest 21 Days, which has been interviewing a bunch of players from the 1990 CMC minor league set, including an interview this week with Paul Noce about his famous "hit in the butt with a baseball" card. Also, the Hall of Very Good, which does my weekly "This Week in Baseball Cards" post, has an interview every Friday. This past Friday was a no-holds-barred interview with Kris Benson about his famous wife Anna. Great stuff.]

Mike Ekstrom pitched for the Padres in 2008 and 2009, and the Rays in 2010 and 2011. Last week he signed with the Colorado Rockies. He kindly answered my questions about baseball cards.

"When I was little I collected a lot of baseball and basketball cards. Nolan Ryan cards were my favorite. I still have them buried somewhere but I don't really collect cards anymore... I like the throwback looking cards the best. When I get a new card I just send them all to my parents, that way they can give them out to family and friends."

Thanks!
