This was one of the cards I got recently from gcrl, from a recent set called "Fleer Greats of the Game," featuring Ron Guidry signing autographs from Angels fans sometime in the 1980s.
When I first saw the card, I immediately thought of this one, from 1983 Fleer.
This looks like Anaheim stadium, and there is a red chain link fence just like the first, plus at least one autograph seeker nearby. Could these photos be from the same day? Or did Fleer just get lots of shots of him through the years, surrounded by admiring Angels fans who wanted the signature of the man who struck out 18 Angels in a game in 1978?

I think the image for the 1983 Fleer card was taken at Arlington Stadium or whatever the Texas Rangers used to call their home in the 1980s.
ReplyDeleteThe red chain link fence in the 1983 Fleer card looks the same as the Fleer GOTG card, but I don't think Angel Stadium had any blue, like you see in the background of the 1983 Fleer card.
