Had a great day at Yankee Stadium today - saw the Yankees edge past the Tampa Bay Rays, 4-1. The Yankees could barely touch Matt Garza for seven innings. Fortunately, Joe Madden brought in the bullpen in the eighth, and the Yankees promptly scored three runs off of three relievers to win the game.
A-Rod was the hitting hero of the game, going three for three, driving in the Yankees first run with a first-inning double.
Despite walking four batters and falling behind just about everyone, CC Sabathia gutted through seven innings, allowing just one run.
Jorge Posada had a great eighth inning, gunning down Carl Crawford attempting to steal in the top half, then hitting a key RBI-single in the bottom half.
