When Night Owl was recently gifted with a box with lots of 1969/1970 cards I was hoping he was having some extras I could trade for. He did - here is what I got, in exchange for some 1970s and some tennis relics:
1969. My favorite is the Chris Short card, probably the best Wrigley Field shot I've seen on a baseball card.
1970 and 1971. That Lowell Palmer card is a famous photo I'm happy to add to my collection.
1973 and 1974. I've been re-reading the book Ball Four and Ralph Houk is a key person in that book.

The Short card isn't at Wrigley Field. That's the Polo Grounds. The Mets last played there in 1963, meaning Topps used a six-year-old picture.
ReplyDeleteNice pickups, for sure. I like that 1970 Mazeroski card. The '70 Sizemore is a classic, too.
ReplyDeleteIt feels pretty good to be able to throw around vintage in trades. I hope I can continue to do that.
