1981 Topps Mike Proly

The front: Great shot at Comiskey park signing what looks like a program for a fan.

The back: The blurb is a bit misleading. The seven saves came not in one calendar month, but between April 16 and May 15.

The player: Proly was an effective reliever for the White Sox, Phillies and Cubs from 1978-1982. In 1983 he struggled, going 1-5 with a 3.58 ERA. He didn’t pitch in the majors again, struggling big time at AAA in 1984.

The man: He is now a financial advisor for MetLife in Greenville, SC.

My collection: I have 15 of his cards, from 1979 to 1984. I would be interested in trading for 1982 Topps Traded #92.
