Player Profile: Paul Bako

I have seven cards of Paul Bako. This one is from 1994 Classic.

Playing career: Paul Bako was a backup catcher for eleven teams in twelve years from 1998 to 2009. He was a very good defensive catcher but not much of a hitter. He hit .265 in his first two seasons and .220 in his last ten seasons.

Where he is now: A Branch Marketing Associate at AhrensInvestment Partners in Lafayette, LA.

My memories: Was aware of him, mostly for the Cubs, which were the most prominent team he played for. I love his stat line, and how it would look on a baseball card, especially the last ten years:
2004 Cubs
2005 Dodgers
2006 Royals
2007 Orioles
2008 Reds
2009 Phillies

Google Autocomplete results: He is third when you type Paul Bak, between Paul Bakery, a chain of French bakeries in DC and Florida, and Paul Baker, a printing company in California. There do not appear to be any other prominent Paul Bakos.

Coming up next: The next profile will be Steve Balboni.
