Player Profile: Rob Andrews

The New This Week in Baseball Cards is up at the Hall of Very Good - with Cardinals, Brewers, and lots of mustaches.

I have three cards of Rob Andrews. This one is from 1978 Topps.

Playing career: Rob Andrews was a second baseman for the Astros and Giants from 1975 to 1979. He had a career OBP of .318 and SLG of .298.

Where he is now: Recently retired after 26 years of running Rob Andrews Baseball Camps.

Interesting facts: Brother of former Red Sox and A’s infielder Mike Andrews.

My memories: Before my time. Only know him from his cards.

Google Autocomplete results: He is second when you type Rob An, between Rob and Big, an MTV reality show, and Rob and Kristen, referring to the stars of the Twilight movies. The ballplayer is ninth when you type Rob Andrews; most of the other links refer to the Democratic Congressman from New Jersey.

Coming up next: The next profile will be Shane Andrews.
