Another vintage street trade

Pretty early on in my return to collecting in the early 2000s, I realized I was going to have to set a limit somewhere. At the time I had a few 1978s and nothing earlier. I was born in 1977 and the Yankees won their first World Series in a while that year, so it seemed that the set that chronicled the '77 season would be a good cutoff. Since then, I have been disciplined about not actively seeking out cards from before 1978. I'll see something on Craigslist that might be something like "400 1960s cards for $200", and I'll think that's a good deal, and then realize that's $200 for 400 cards. (I'm being hypothetical, though I did recently see something like that, forget the exact numbers). So they are not officially part of my collection, but more and more I'm enjoying owning some, the older the better. I feel like if I start actively trying to collect them I'll find myself spending too much on the cards in general and especially the key cards. But I'm enjoying owning a few hundred older cards that passively find their way into my collection.

Yesterday I traded Al a dozen Don Mattinglys, and in return I started going through his little pile of 1970s cards and I ended up getting 18 cards, all 1975 and earlier. Not surprisingly, a lot of them were horizontal cards he wanted to get rid of.

One 1975, one 1974 Traded
Seven 1974s. Turns out I already had Cookie Rojas, #278, so that is available for trade.
Five 1973s. Love that Johnny Bench World Series card, and the Sam McDowell "Boyhood Photos of the Stars".
 Two 1972s.
And two 1970s. I feel like anything 1970 and earlier is a different level of vintage. Seems to me the card stock changed between 1970 and 1971, making 1971 and later seem more modern.
