Shortstop Jose Valentin played 1,678 games, none of them for the Padres, who traded him to Milwaukee in 1992 as part of the Gary Sheffield trade. In total he played sixteen years in the major leagues, mostly for the Brewers and White Sox, hitting .243 with 249 HR and 816 RBI. He later returned to the Padres organization as a coach, most recently their first base coach in 2014 and 2015, though he now appears to be out of their organization.
Another photo from The Crescent. This was taken the same year the company was sued by an elderly woman over an elevator injury. Should have taken the escalator like Valentin.
