Outfielder Matt Mieske played for the Brewers, Cubs, Mariners, Astros and Diamondbacks from 1993 to 2000, hitting .262 with 56 HR and 226 RBI. Now a certified financial planner at LPL Financial Services, the nation's largest independent broker-dealer, he kindly answered my questions about baseball cards.
"I am not really a collector of cards. I have kept copies of all of my cards, but not really anyone elses. I have collected autographed baseballs over the years, but not cards.
My favorite one is probably the one that I posed left-handed, as I am right-handed, and never hit left-handed. I didn't think that they would let me do it, but it went through anyways."
Thanks!

I used to own a Las Vegas Stars warmup jackets that had been Mieskes the year before. It has sunflower seeds and bubble gum in the pockets when I got it. When I saw him next i asked how come he had so much bubble gum and he said it kept his tobacco together.
