1981 Topps Scot Thompson

The front: Thompson rips a line drive at Shea Stadium. In five day games at Shea, Thompson went 1-for-7. Four of the five appearances were pinch hitting duties.

The back: William Thompson, a first baseman, spent 10 years in the minors, mostly in the Reds and Braves organization, despite never getting above AA. In 1,158 games he hit .269 with 136 HR and 660 RBI.

The player: Outfielder Scot Thompson played eight seasons for the Cubs, Giants and Expos, mostly in a reserve role. In 626 games he hit .262 with 5 HR and 110 RBI.

The man: Thompson seems to have kept a low profile since his playing days, though he did coach at his alma mater, Knoch High School, in the 1990s.

My collection: I have 13 of his cards, from 1979 to 1986. I would be interested in trading for 1985 Mother's Cookies San Francisco Giants SGA #15.
