JJ Munoz pitched in the Phillies and Royals organizations from 1990 to 1995, and later pitched for the independent Waterbury Spirit. In 190 games (34 starts), he went 23-21 with 21 saves and a 3.11 ERA. Now the owner of JJ Munoz Baseball Instruction in the Dallas area, he kindly answered my questions about baseball cards.
"My favorite card of myself is actually the one from Waterbury, CT of the now defunct independent Northeast League. The photographer forgot my paperwork and couldn’t remember my name. He just remembered that all the guys kept calling me “Loco”...so that’s what they put on my card. Loco Muñoz . I do not collect cards but I have been gifted a few bricks of cards over the years. Unopened and still sealed. "
Thanks!
