Double Diamond Jesters

I got two great PWEs from Diamond Jesters. One was from his generous fifth-anniversary giveaway. The other was the usual monthly time travel trade. Lots of great variety here!

Starting with the vintage, a '60 and two '63s. Even at the age of 31 Williams was looking like an old guy.

I grabbed the three vintage right away, so I waited a day before claiming anything else. I was sure these two fantastic Canadian oddballs would have been snapped up before then. Somehow they were not! I love how "Baseball Pro Tips' translates to "Les Secrets du Baseball".
Here are the modern cards I claimed. Though even one of the modern cards has a St. Louis Browns alien guy on it.
I also claimed three football cards.

Matt also had a giveaway to celebrate his fifth anniversary. The El Duque insert that looks like a Wheaties box was an obvious choice for me. So was the Jackson Mets oddball. So was the extremely 90's Starting Lineup design I'd never seen before. So was the Legends oddball - I only came across that set recently. Finally '88 Fleer Star Sticker is one of the few sets from my childhood I haven't yet completed.

  1. I feel like there were two lines of cards that truly captured the early 90's in their designs: Kenner SLU's and Topps Magazine. I think the bright colors and flashy designs captured my college years in a nutshell.

  2. I would've grabbed the DuPree if you hadn't. Have the Perry.

  3. Had I gotten there a little sooner, I probably would've tried to get a few of those cards in that last photo of yours.
