Wallet Card at Griffon Cutlery

The Griffon Cutlery Works was founded in 1888 and moved to this location on West 19th Street in 1920. They manufactured a variety of cutting implements such as scissors, shears, nippers, tweezers, etc. In the 1940s the company changed it's name to Griffon Cutlery Corp. You can see on the bottom right of the sign how "Works" was painted over with "Corp". The company moved out of this location in 1968 and went out of business some time later.
