Wallet Card at Balabanis Tailor

Why would a guitar shop have a sign that advertised "Alterations for Men and Women"? Because it is a leftover from when the spot was Balabanis Tailor, which operated out of the Chelsea Hotel for over 20 years before closing in 2008.

    This post made me picture Gene Simmons and Ace Frehley walking in that door to pick up their guitars and then have their on-stage costumes fitted.

    As worn as the "Alterations" sign is, it looks like it's bee around a lot longer than thirty years.
