I have two cards of Josh Booty. This one is from 1998 Upper Deck.
Playing career: Third baseman Josh Booty played five years
of professional baseball, including three in the majors with the Florida
Marlins, winning a World Series ring in 1997. In 13 major league games he hit
.269 with 0 HR and 4 RBI. A two-sport star in college, he also played briefly
in the NFL. He attempted a comeback as a knuckleball pitcher for the
Diamondbacks in 2013 after winning the reality show competition “The Knuckler,”
but was released at the end of spring training.
Where he is now: A Director for Oxygenade, a bottled-water
company.
My memories: He shared his thoughts on baseball cards with
this blog in 2012.
Coming up next: The next profile will be Pedro Borbon.
I remember being excited to get a first-round pick's autograph back in 1995 when he played at Kane County. He signed at least three cards for me. Still have them.
