Art on the back: 1954

The 1954 set, which still used a format a little larger in size than modern cards, packed a ton of information on the back, including a fun little comic strip called Inside Baseball. Here's one with Clem Labine hurting his finger playing football, and getting it "fixed" by his 1930s doctor.

I showed the backs of these cards when I got them but they're worth another look. Ed Stanky and Jim Greengrass.
And back in the days when All-Star games and even spring training games held more importance than they do now, tales of revenge from Hank Sauer and Bob Purkey.

  1. These card backs are awesome. Love the color comics and very cool that they gave a shoutout to the wife of Jim Greengrass (awesome last name).
