Outfielder Tony Tarasco played eight seasons in the major leagues for the Braves, Orioles, Expos, Reds, Yankees and Mets. His best season was 1995, when he hit .249 with 14 HR, 40 RBI and 24 SB for the Expos. Overall in 457 games he hit .240 with 34 HR, 118 HR and 39 SB. Now the first base coach for the Mets, he kindly answered my questions about baseball cards.
"Actually, there are a couple of intriguing things about baseball cards. I was on the Mets for most of the 2002 season, with the exception of a maybe a month. I don’t believe there is a Tony Tarasco Mets card out there.
And my favorite card resembles a fantastic friendship at a time of growth in the Upper Deck 1992 card, where I share the pic with Chipper Jones."
Thanks!
Hadn't seen that one with him and Chipper before. Really cool that he answered your questions.
ReplyDeleteNice. An early Chipper cameo.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've seen that card before either...probably because I've yet to finish 1992 Upper Deck.
