Player Profile: Bobby Borchering

I have one card of Bobby Borchering, from 2011 Topps Pro Debut.

Playing career: Bobby Borchering was the Diamondbacks’ first round draft pick in 2009 and displayed a lot of pop early on, culminating in a 24-home run season in 2011 at Class-A Visalia. However, he struggled in AA, was traded to the Astros, and has not recaptured the success of his early career.

Where he is now: This season he played sixteen games at Class-A Lancaster, hitting .238 with 0 HR and 7 RBI.

My memories: Only know him from his card.

Google Autocomplete results: He is second when you type Bobby Bor, between Bobby Boriello, an actor, and Bobby Boris Pickett, who sang “Monster Mash”. There do not appear to be any other prominent Bobby Borcherings.

Coming up next: The next profile will be Pat Borders.
