Player Profile: Chad Allen

I have one card of Chad Allen, from 2000 Bowman Retro/Future.

Playing Career: Chad Allen made his debut for the Twins in 1999, and hit .277 with 10 HR and 46 RBI in 137 games. He couldn’t stick in the big leagues regularly after that, playing in just 130 major league games for four teams over the next six seasons.

My memories: I remember him being a Twin who had some potential, but then I never heard about him again, and other players like Lew Ford took his place.

Interesting facts: Named in the Mitchell Report. His father, Jackie Allen, was a defensive back for the Raiders, Bills and Eagles.

Where he is now: Anyone know where Chad Allen is now?

Google Autocomplete results: He is first when you type Chad A, ahead of Chad and Jeremy, an English folk rock duo. The ballplayer is actually sixth when you type Chad Allen; the first five results refer to the actor from Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.

Coming up next: The next profile will be Jamie Allen.
